“Sovijus” was initially funded by Ramūnas Peršonis in 1994. Ramūnas Peršonis has also been playing guitar and writing music for such Lithuanian cult pagan metal bands as “Poccolus” and “Zpoan Vtenz”.
Later the project was joined by jazz performers Andrius Radavičius (guitar), Arūnas Periokas (drums) and Mindaugas Suchockas (flute, vocals). The latter was a collaborating in en avant-garde projects along with Ramunas Jaras.
The variety of the musicians and their background offers a possibility to experiment with the sound. Their live performances are always accompanied with videos (created by MayaSomma), which become an equally important instrument.
The music produced by “Sovijus” leads through the labyrinths of dark and deep sound, overwhelmed with shadows and monumental visions.
